Graduate of Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan with a BA in pre-law in 1971, and Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1975. Mr. Lanting is currently serving or has served on the following boards of directors: Midlothian State Bank, Trinity Christian College, Rest Haven Christian Services, Providence Bank, and Illiana Christian High School.

In practice since 1980, and licensed in both Illinois and Indiana. Graduate of Hope College, Holland, Michigan with a B.A. in History cum laude, in 1977, and Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, cum laude in 1980.
